Usman is a Partner at Mobius Capital Partners, an emerging and frontier markets investment firm. Usman joined the firm at its inception in 2018 after founding a sustainable investment consultancy, advising institutions in Sweden, Belgium and the UK. Prior to this, Usman was an Investment Analyst at Caravel Management where he focused on an emerging and frontier markets sustainability fund (now part of Goldman Sachs). Usman has published on ESG investing in emerging and frontier markets for the Journal of Applied Corporate Finance, Routledge, and the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). He serves on the ESG Working Group for the Emerging Markets Investors Alliance and the sustainability advisory board for Vinamilk in Vietnam. Usman was named as one of the top 30 sustainable and responsible investors (SRI) under 30 in 2019.

Usman was fortunate to represent England at the United Nations in Geneva at the age of 15 and previously worked on a range of youth advocacy initiatives, including with the UK Youth Parliament, the National Children’s Bureau and UNICEF. Usman received the Andrew Rowe award for outstanding commitment as a Member of the UK Youth Parliament and is passionate about ensuring young people’s voices are heard throughout decision making, particularly in emerging markets. Usman is excited about combining his emerging markets investment experience with his youth advocacy experience to contribute to the mission of Lumos.
