Raising Global Awareness


Lumos strives to increase awareness about the harmful effect of institutions on children's lives. Even those that are guided by the best intentions can never replace the benefits of a loving and nurturing family environment.

By helping to achieve deeper public and political understanding of the value of providing good care and making the right investments, we can end the institutionalisation of children worldwide by 2050.

UNGA 2019: A goal within reach

On 16 Sept we launched our latest report with a panel discussion around the millions of institutionalized children around the world who are at risk of being left behind by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

No Child Left Behind - High Level Conference

On Friday 15 June 2018, The European Commission and Lumos co-hosted the high-level conference "No child left behind: Families not institutions - EU external action championing children's rights” in Brussels.
