Lumos is delighted to announce the appointment of Carol Copland as our new Chair of Trustees. Carol succeeds outgoing Chair Neil Blair, who has served since 2013.
Carol, who has served on Lumos’ Board of Trustees since 2017, runs her own legal practice and acts as General Counsel for companies and charities. A commercial lawyer with over 20 years’ experience, Carol has significant experience of working with international companies across a number of sectors.
Carol takes up her post at a time of renewed focus for Lumos, which was founded in 2005 to end the harmful institutionalisation of children around the world. Last year we embarked on a new strategic direction and this June appointed Peter McDermott as Chief Executive.
Previously, Carol served on the Executive Committee at Metaswitch Networks Ltd and has also held roles at The Qualification and Curriculum Authority, the Examinations and Appeals Board, and at Linklaters.
