As we mark our 20th anniversary, Lumos is proud to announce the launch of a special mini film series featuring Lumos Founder & Life President, J.K. Rowling and expert colleagues from around the globe.
A Journey Through Two Decades of Impact
Starting today, we will release a new film every week or two over the coming months, culminating on November 3rd, the exact day of Lumos’ 20th anniversary. This carefully curated series offers an intimate look at what Lumos has accomplished over the past two decades in our unwavering mission to ensure children grow up in safe, loving families rather than in institutions far from those they know and love, and a glimpse into its future.

The films demonstrate the remarkable depth and breadth of Lumos’ work across multiple continents. Through powerful storytelling and expert insights, viewers will discover how our comprehensive approach addresses every aspect of family preservation and child protection.
Our mission to keep families together encompasses several crucial areas of intervention:
Prevention and Protection: We work tirelessly to prevent children from being separated from their families in the first place, while simultaneously protecting children from the risks that can lead to institutionalisation.
Inclusive Education: Recognising that children with disabilities face a disproportionately higher risk of ending up in institutions, we champion inclusive education solutions that ensure every child can learn and thrive within their community.
Foster Care Solutions: For children who cannot safely return to their biological families, we develop robust foster care systems that provide the family environment every child deserves.
