Home About us
Our past
For over twenty years, we’ve worked in partnership with national governments and local organisations to change the lives of children who are separated or facing separation from their families, due to issues like poverty, violence, disability, displacement, or limited access to services.
Starting in 2006 in Moldova, our regional work grew to cover Czechia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Greece. In 2014, we expanded into the USA and Haiti, and then Kenya and Colombia.
During our first 20 years, we enabled more than 280,000 children to grow up in families, not institutions.
Our present and future
Today, we are partnering with more governments, organisations, and local front-line professionals to shape the systems and deliver the services needed so more children can grow up in a family. We’re combining decades of expertise in care-reform economics with hands-on capacity building to deliver the sustainable, systemic transformation at-risk children need.
By 2036, we will enable over 500,000 children in care to thrive in families instead of institutions. We will support at least 10 million more children and their families to flourish together and avoid family breakdown and separation.
And we won’t stop until the future of every child is secured within a safe and loving family, thanks to the care and protection systems we transform today.
