Lumos today announced the appointment of social media star, Rossana Bee, as the newest Ambassador for Lumos. Rossana is otherwise known as Mama Bee of the Toronto-based Eh Bee Family, whose videos entertain and inspire more than 15 million global subscribers across social media channels.
Rossana joins a growing team of Lumos Ambassadors who raise awareness of the plight of the 8 million children growing up in orphanages around the world. The Ambassadors highlight the work of Lumos to transform care systems so that families can stay together and ensure that all children grow up in a loving, family environment.
Rossana will draw on her own experiences as a Uruguayan immigrant to Canada to bring specialist knowledge to a number of themes of Lumos' work, including unaccompanied refugee and migrant children and voluntourism in Latin America and the Caribbean. 2018 will see Rossana visiting Lumos programs and partners in Ethiopia and Sudan.
Rossana says: “I passionately believe in giving all children the chance to grow up in a family and I am thrilled to be appointed Ambassador for Lumos. There are 8 million children in orphanages and institutions around the world. We know that 80% of them are not orphans at all and have a family member that, given the right support, could give them a loving upbringing. I am honoured to use my voice to highlight the plight of these children and how Lumos can transform their lives.”

In addition to Lumos, Rossana and her family support programs that provide nutrition, water and education for children in Haiti, India and Uganda through the Eh Bee Family Foundation.
